Welcome to Trafford Rowing Club

Trafford Rowing Club was founded in 1957 and is affiliated to British Rowing, the national governing body for rowing.  Based on the Bridgewater Canal in South Manchester, the club is a community club which allows members to enjoy rowing whether it is a gentle paddle through the suburbs of South Manchester or competing at the highest level.

Our Boathouse Project

Trafford Rowing Club has operated from Walton Park for over 50 years, but our current boat storage facility is now beyond capacity and restricting future growth. The Boathouse Project will convert unused roof space into a safe and practical new area away from the busy boat loading zone.

โ€‹

The development will provide off water training space for up to 8 rowers, secure storage for rowing machines and personal kit, and a social area for meetings and post rowing gatherings.

โ€‹

Planning permission has been granted for a mezzanine level, balcony, full access lift, and stairs, and we are currently fundraising to expand and grow our facilities and move the project from design into delivery.
